The Wall Hawk Band. The fans have all seen them play during halftime at football games, but they haven’t seen them advance through the finals to State… until now.

The Mean Green Marching Machine is going to State for the first time since the 1990s, and the players are over-the-moon excited to compete.

“This is my first time being able to go to State,” junior snare drum player, Gia Gibson, said, “so, obviously, the common reaction would be like, ‘Oh, my gosh! We’re going to State! Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh!’ and you’re just happy, and, just… I was really happy.”

The color guard is also excited and honored for this opportunity to compete at such a huge event.

“It makes me feel really… good,” sophomore color guard member, Sofia Jeffrey, said. “We’re a good band together.”

The community’s heart and support goes out to the Wall Hawk Band as they prepare for the competition.
