Students Advance to State
Regional UIL held online for the first time
April 26, 2021
Seven Wall student UIL Academic participants will advance to State after competing at the virtual Regional meet held at Wall High School Friday April 16 and Saturday April 17.
“Personally, I found going virtual very challenging,” Oral Interp Coach Shelly Nelson said. “Factors like the internet connection not being strong enough or the video and audio feed lagging added to my worries because we couldn’t control that when it happened.”
This year’s academic state meet will include an in-person competition as well as a virtual meet held at Angelo State University Friday April 30 and Saturday May 1.
“Being on the zoom this time was a different experience, but we still had a good season,” Senior Kaitin Stein said. “I think State will go well, and we will definetely try our best.”
