Junior high athlete comes back from injury
April 12, 2021
Wall Junior High Girls Track Team competed at their district meet in Ballinger on Saturday, March 27. One athlete in particular, eighth grader Brylyn Watts, did well in her events coming out of an ACL injury and placing first in the mile relay.
“It took about a year and a half to fully adjust going through surgeries,” Watts said. “The recovery took a few months, but my recovery mentally took a lot longer.”
Watt’s relay teams in the 800 and sprint relay broke both records at the district meet.
“I can still see myself doing better next year just because I was trying to get into the groove of things, but I’m very happy on where my team stood,” Watts said.
